5 OLD COINS RAISE A FANTASTIC AMOUNT OF MONEY

A very generous donation from the Parish of the Most Holy Trinity in Axminster has raised £2,672.36 so far just from five beautiful, old coins !

The 1915 Austrian 100 Corona is a classic large-format gold bullion coin originally issued by the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. The 1887 British Silver Crown was issued by the Royal Mint to celebrate Queen Victorias Golden Jubilee marking 50 years of her reign. The 1680 Charles II crown is a 17th century English silver coin from the Restoration period. The 1951 Crown is a commemorative coin issued by the Royal Mint to celebrate the Festival of Britain and the ingot medallion commemorates the Investiture of HRH Charles Prince of Wales in 1969 in Wales and weighs 112 grams of 999 Fine Silver fully hallmarked.

Work is being carried out on the remaining items donated through their orange box as well as from a number of other parishes whose donations were delivered to Plymouth yesterday.

Thank you to all our wonderful parishioners who continue to donate their unwanted items. So far in 2026, we have raised £4,514.35 and tomorrow we travel to Dorset to collect a few more orange bags before our annual mass in Axminster.
