Volunteer

Please consider becoming a volunteer

We are delighted that a number of parishes have stepped forward and now have a Parish Volunteer in place to help us with our fundraising. There is a ladder of involvement and some parishes just want to MAINTAIN & MONITOR our supply of newsletters and promotional material including our Orange Box recycling scheme. Others want to PROMOTE and support organised fundraising events such as the Annual Appeal, our Crib appeal and the Great Big Diocesan Quiz. Other Parish Volunteers are happy to get more involved by ORGANISING fundraising events of their own.

A Parish Volunteer pack is available and if you would like a copy to see what is involved, please click on the link below. If you are interested in your parish getting more involved, our Fundraiser & Communications Officer can visit to make a short presentation on the work we do and how your parish can help, which can be made to your group of volunteers.

Have you thought about being a Board Member?

Our Board meets four times a year at our offices at St Boniface House in Ashburton. Each trustee is passionate about making a difference and each one brings a different skill set to the board. We are always looking for new trustees to supplement the existing strengths and are particularly interested in recruiting trustees with professional skills in areas such as Human Resources. This is a voluntary position, both rewarding and challenging. Click here to request more information on becoming a trustee.

We are also looking for youth trustees to bring the views of young people to our work. Maybe you are at university or have just completed your studies and think you would enjoy making a difference to some of the most deprived families in our Diocese ? This volunteering role would give you good business experience, an ability to find out how a small charity works, knowledge of safeguarding, as well as valuable experience working as part of a diverse team and much more. You will need to be 18+. Click here to request more information on becoming a youth trustee.

ESSENTIAL GRANTS

This programme aims to relieve the urgent material needs of children, young people and families by providing essential household items and clothing, such as cookers, washing machines, beds and school uniforms.

This support is offered, as many families can not afford to purchase these items themselves. This can be due to a number of reasons, such as unemployment or trying to set up a home.
