Towards the end of last year, we received an Essential Grants application from a family in Cornwall who asked for our help to make life a little easier.
Mum asked for a single bed for her son and a tumble dryer plus a school jumper, and when she was asked to prioritise the item most in need, she chose the tumble dryer as she was spending a lot of money on heating their house to dry their clothes.
Our panel of trustees then offered to purchase the bed as well as they already had a mattress and mum was overjoyed and said
“Thank you ever so much for reaching out to me, I am beyond grateful for the kind generosity we have received and can’t thank you enough. I do not need a new mattress for my son, just a single bed frame. It doesn’t really matter to us if it’s a divan, wooden etc… I am so overjoyed and this has taken a lot of financial pressure off before Christmas that is for sure. God bless. Thanks to you all”
Once mum had set up her sons room, she sent us a picture and what a transformation ! All we did was help with a new children’s bed.
