Many parishes responded to our recent plea and placed a ‘wanted’ article in their newsletters asking for knitted baby donations. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of kind people in the Diocese who got in touch, which included a lovely 93 year old parishioner from Devon !
Over the last six months, we’ve been sending a small parcel of knitted baby items including cardigans, bonnets, booties, mittens, blankets and teddies to families with newborns who have reached out to CCSP for an Essential Grant. These knitted items had been donated in the past by a number of parishes, most recently from Blandford Forum’s Knit and Natter group, but our supply was running low.
Pictured below is a beautiful collection of baby blankets, hats and a gorgeous teddy generously donated by a wonderful parishioner at Our Lady Help of Christians & St Denis in St Marychurch in Torquay who loves to knit for SCBU at Torbay hospital. The second picture is the contents of a small parcel being sent to a young mum in Plymouth.

We are extremely grateful that so many parishioners have rallied round to think of families who really need our support and are delighted to be able to bring a little happiness to families in this way.
