A very thoughtful gesture

We have just received a wonderful donation of £275.75 from the Plymouth Catholic Choir following the difficult decision to fold after 76 years.

Formally known as The Plymouth Catholic Choral Society, it was formed by Bishop Grimshaw in 1949 to serve the Diocese of Plymouth.  In recent years the Choral aspect of the Choir has diminished thus the change in title.

They have supported the Cathedral Choir in many events over the years including the annual Rite of Election Service and The Chrism Masses.   One of their greatest joys was to sing at Bishop Christopher’s Silver Jubilee Mass in the Cathedral.

Over the years they have performed many concerts in aid of charity but unfortunately despite their love of singing together and the feeling of comradeship it brings, they have had  to disband this year because of their inability to find a new musical director.

Thank you for thinking of CCSP and the families we continue to support in our Diocese.
