Back in the Summer, we received the wonderful news that the Gibbons Family Trust had very kindly granted CCSP £2,000 to help families living in Devon. Thank you to the trustees for accepting our application and we promised to play our part in providing ‘care, benefit, support, education, or otherwise for the welfare of children and young persons’.
We are delighted to report that thanks to The Gibbons Family Trust, we have been able to support 10 families through our Essential Grants programme. Most of the families supported live in Plymouth but we also supported one family from north Devon. 20 children and 14 adults benefitted from our support as we purchased 5 sets of school uniform, 5 fridge/freezers, a washing machine, a single mattress and an upright vacuum cleaner.
Many of the adults we’ve supported have had trauma in their childhood or have suffered domestic abuse in recent years including one family who fled their home country and they’ve all had to start over again with nothing.
